Amaco Potter’s Choice Glazes were designed for anyone who would like to achieve the Cone 10 reduction effects in an electric kiln without having to have a reduction gas kiln or firing at that high temperature. These stunning glazes add fluid colors and effects to smooth or textured ware, and can be layered with each other for a wide variety of colors and surfaces.

Every glaze, except for Palladium, is dinnerware and food safe, and every color conforms to ASTM D-4236 standards. These glazes can be brushed on in layers or dipped. For optimal results, these lead-free glazes are fired at Cone 5-6 (2205F-2269F, 1207C-1243C) in an oxidation kiln. Amaco Potter’s Choice Glazes are ready-to-use right out of the jar, just shake well.

Frosted Melon – Frosted Melon is a very unique pale green glaze with some qualities that can be exploited for additional interest. It has a massive, beige float with heavy application. This float “cracks”, showing the green of the glaze below while still maintaining a smooth, satin surface. This subtle glaze is beautiful on smooth and textured ware alike.
