Specially refined for artists use, Winsor & Newton Solvents are used to dilute oil color and may be used to clean oil painting brushes, palettes and surfaces.

Sansodor – Winsor & Newton Sansodor is a low odor solvent that evaporates slowly, increases blending time and is suitable for thinning oil colors and cleaning brushes. Sansodor is ideal for alkyd colors and artists who prefer to avoid exposure to turpentine. Sansodor is recommended by leading art schools and is often the only solvent permitted in their studios. Mix just enough solvent with paint to thin to the desired degree. To clean tools, firstwipe the paint off, and then dip them into the liquid. A separate vessel can be helpful to avoid polluting the solvent entirely and keeps the solvent in the original bottle clean for longer.
