Description

A Trakehener mare can only have a foal with a Trakehner, Arab or Thoroughbred stallion. This rule is intended to preserve the breeds elegant build and spirited character. Trakehners originated in the East Prussian town of Trakehnen, near Kaliningrad in Russia.
