Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colors are a genuine oil color, which can be thinned with water and cleaned with soap and water. Each oil color is made from modified linseed oil and modified safflower oil, specifically developed to appear and work just like conventional oil paint. This enables the artist to thin and clean up with water rather than hazardous solvents such as turpentine or mineral spirits.

Dioxazine Purple – Dioxazine Purple is a vivid mid-shade purple pigment and when undiluted, it can be used as a deep black. It is made from a transparent coal tar pigment and was introduced into the Winsor & Newton range in the 1960s.
