Based on binders used in oil color, Winsor & Newton’s Mediums are used to alter the characteristics of oil color, increase gloss, improve flow, and add texture.

Artists’ Painting Medium – Oil Painting Medium reduces the viscosity of oil colors and allows spreading, color blending, and glazing. Painting Medium can also reduce brush strokes and slows the drying process. Resistant to yellowing, Artists’ Painting Medium can have solvent added to make the medium leaner, or add oil to make the medium fatter. Wipe the neck of the bottle after use, to ensure the safety cap remains secure.
