Ideal for preventing over-thinning, Winsor & Newton’s Linseed Oils are used to modify consistency, gloss and drying times.

Refined Linseed Oil – Refined Linseed Oil is a low viscosity alkali refined oil of pale color that dries slowly. This linseed oil reduces the consistency of the paint and can be added to fast-drying oils to balance drying times. Refined Linseed Oil has a low tendency to yellow. Mix just enough medium with paint to achieve smooth textures. To keep light colors clean, use linseed oil sparingly – for whites in particular, Winsor & Newton recommends using Safflower Oil. Wipe the neck of the bottle after use, to ensure the safety cap remains secure.
